R-PHS Represents at Showcase 2017!

R-P had an excellent night at Showcase last Thursday evening.

Our visual artist Noel Sheffer took first place in visual arts. His piece is a spiral of piano keys which is suspended on a swivel from the ceiling.  It is in perpetual rotation.

Our literary artist Taylor Dibble took first place for her poetry work.

Both Noel and Taylor will have their names engraved on the showcase cups and each have earned $1000 for their effort.

Our solo performer Brody Yarian earned 2nd place.  He performed an original juggling routine including tennis balls, bowling balls and glow in the dark spheres.  Brody earned $500 for his finish.

Our group performance, called Equinox, and made up of Cody Jonaitis, Jacob Foster, Lauren Martin, Dolen Austin, Dawson Wheeler, Carson Judd, Zach Ostoin, Gabrielle Burns, Matthew Jeroy, Madeline Stafford, Evan Hodson, Noel Sheffer, Nathan Schweri, Weston Dulyea and Quinn Yarian also took 2nd place.  They performed Edgar Winter’s 1973 rock anthem Frankenstein.  They also earned $500 for their finish.

Finishing with two first and two second places is unprecedented in the storied history of Showcase. These talented students represented Rocket City very well.
I’m attaching picture of the large group sporting their medals as well as Taylor and Noel holding and kissing the trophies they’ve earned.
